Poor Mr. Pumpkin

Mr. Pumpkin is about to meet his maker-baker tomorrow, me. I have had this guy since October and just have not had the heart to slice and dice him up . Actually, I toted this silly guy back from one of my Seattle trips last fall with the intention of making my Thanksgiving pies. That idea went over big, as you can see. All the holidays are gone and he is still here-imagine something this large having difficulty disappearing! I guess it's difficult being a pumpkin now days-here today, soup tomorrow. Farewell big guy............

That is one BIG pumpkin! Maybe you can still make a pie and your soup?

You ARE writing a cookbook and illustrating it with your wonderful photographs, aren't you?

I'm impressed that a pumpkin lasted that long!

Well, here's my second attempt at a comment. Be glad when Blogger settles down. Love your food site -- one of my favorite subjects! I found you on Deepwater Journal. Can't wait to try some of these recipes.

Mon mari attacked my 'great pumpking' with his machete - a bit of overkill, but he had fun. It's now all tucked into my freezer - soups, gratins, bread... Want to trade recipes?

It's a beautiful pumpkin, Jann. (Yes, you should do a book of your travels.)

I wish we could find pumpkins like that up here!

A gorgeous and impressive photo, and even more impressive that you transported Mr. Pumpkin back from Seattle! Can't wait to see the results!

Poor pumpkin :(
That is a fantastic picture. I can't believe your pumpkin has stayed that fresh looking this many months out.

I just got done making pumpkin muffins this morning. Delicious! Any thing with pumpkin in it is great in my opinion. Well worth slaughtering the little guy :)
